How every place on this site is checked

Every place on Florence Media was visited in person. Each entry carries the date it was last checked, and if that date is more than six months old the entry comes off the site until somebody goes back.

What a check means

Going there. Standing in the room, ordering something, looking at the opening hours on the door rather than on a booking site. Prices are read from the menu, not from a review. Where something could not be confirmed, the entry says so instead of guessing.

What is not checked

Times of day described as best or quietest are our own observations across a season, not data. Seasonal openings change every year. Anything that depends on a specific evening, a specific member of staff or the weather is not a fact and is not presented as one.

Nothing here is paid for

No place has paid to be listed and none can. There are no affiliate links and no commission on bookings. Where there is any other connection to a business, that connection is written on the entry itself, in plain text, not in a footer.

Corrections and closures

If something here is wrong, write to florencemediamag@gmail.com. Wrong hours, a changed price, a place that has closed, a detail that was never right. Corrections are made quickly and logged with the date, because a guide that cannot be corrected is just an old guide.

Places close, especially small ones, and often nobody announces it. Telling us is the single most useful thing a reader can do.

Suggestions are welcome at florencemediamag@gmail.com. Tell us what it is and why it should be here. If you run the place yourself, say so, it changes nothing about whether it gets in.

Nothing goes on the site without a visit, so a suggestion is a lead rather than a listing.
