Cascata dell'Abbraccio
A waterfall in the Mugello where the stream wraps around the rock, reached by a short walk from the village and cold enough to swim in.

Named for the way the water folds around the stone. The trail leaves from the centre of Palazzuolo sul Senio and takes fifteen minutes through woodland, which makes this one of the few Tuscan waterfalls that does not require a serious hike.
Strongest in spring after the snowmelt. In summer the pool below is deep enough to get into, and the Senio runs cold. Boots rather than sandals, the rock is slippery.
About an hour and a half north east by car. No practical public transport, so this is a car day.
