What everybody agrees on

Read across public reviews on Google and TripAdvisor plus Italian city writing in September 2026.

  • Most

The setting is what people describe: a pool surrounded by mature trees inside a park, rather than a municipal box.

  • Most

It is used almost entirely by Florentines, which is unusual for anything this close to the centre.

  • Often

It works as a full afternoon. There is lawn space and a bar, and people stay for hours.

  • Some

Weekends are busy and the lawn fills before the water does.

What to order

Go on a weekday. Same pool, same trees, and space to put a towel down.

Before you go

Getting there
T1 tram to the Cascine stop, then a few minutes into the park.
Season
Summer. It closes out of season.
Bring
Cash for the entrance, and a towel.

The closest pool to the historic centre and the one Florentines name first. There is a children’s pool as well as the main tank, loungers to rent, and a restaurant that stays open through the day. In the evening the water closes and the grounds turn into a garden club with music. Swimming caps are compulsory, which surprises visitors every year. Open roughly June to mid September.
