Stefano Bondi took over one room here in 1977 at nineteen and cooked with his mother. It has since expanded into a former convent storeroom and part of a fourteenth century palace, which is why the interior wanders through small connected rooms. The kitchen buys from the market across the square. It is now one of the most reviewed restaurants in the city, and it feels like it: fast, loud, packed, and priced for the location.
