- Go for
- A small wine bar run by people who will sit down and explain what you are drinking, in a city where most places just pour.
- Skip if
- You want a big list or a big room. Both are small and deliberately so.
What everybody agrees on
Read across public reviews on Google and TripAdvisor in September 2026.
- Most
The staff are what reviewers describe. They explain, they suggest, and they adjust to what you say you like.
- Most
The list leans on small producers rather than recognisable labels.
- Often
Cheese and cured meat boards are the food, and they are generous rather than decorative.
- Some
It is small and fills early in the evening.
What to order
Tell them what you drank last and liked. The whole method here is that the second glass is chosen after they have seen your reaction to the first.
Before you go
- Best time
- Before eight, or you will be standing.
- Booking
- Worth calling for a table in the evening.
Vino sfuso is how Florentines bought wine before it came with a label and a price to match, and the practice never fully disappeared in this part of the city. Via Gioberti is a working shopping street with no monuments on it, which is why almost no visitor ends up here. Open through the day until ten, closed Sunday.
