What everybody agrees on
Read across public reviews on TripAdvisor and Google plus Italian bar and restaurant guides in September 2026.
- Most
The room is the draw. Industrial bones from the original shop, a florist by the entrance, and a scale that nothing else in the quarter has.
- Most
It is listed among the city's better cocktail bars by Italian guides rather than only by visitors.
- Often
It genuinely works at any hour, which is rare in Florence. Breakfast, laptop coffee, dinner, and drinks after.
- Often
There is a proper restaurant inside with its own chef, separate from the bistro menu.
- Some
Weekend brunch fills it. Booking helps.
What to order
Come for breakfast or for drinks rather than for lunch. The room is at its best when it is either quiet or fully lit and loud, and the middle of the day is neither.
Before you go
- Getting there
- Via de' Ginori, five minutes north of the Duomo.
- Best time
- Early morning with a laptop, or after nine for the bar.
- Booking
- For weekend brunch and for the restaurant.
The building opened in 1896 as Florence’s first shop selling household goods, and the current owners kept the name and the industrial bones when they reopened it. It now runs as several rooms at once: a florist near the entrance, a bistro, a full restaurant, and a bar downstairs with live music.
It is open from breakfast until late, which is rare here, so it works equally as a morning coffee with a laptop and as somewhere to end the evening. Busy at weekend brunch.
