A loop of about two hours starting and finishing near Piazza Mino in Fiesole, through the abandoned pietra serena quarries that supplied the stone for half of Renaissance Florence. There is a monument at the top marking the 1505 flight attempt.
The path is shaded most of the way and the overlook gives the whole valley with the city at the bottom of it.
Bus 7 from Piazza San Marco to Fiesole, then follow the signs uphill from the square. Proper shoes: the quarry paths are uneven.
